New Year has begun.

A new year has begun and a new decade is upon us.I have just finished my first commision for the year. Not bad considering the beginning on the year is always the quietest, lets hope it's a sign of things to come.

Now it is time to set my goals for the year. Looks to be a busy one again on the travel side, yeh. Having done a lot of hikes on the Bibbulmun Track last year and a trip to NSW as well as one to QLD, Oh and did I mention an amazing trip to Alaska for a month! oh yeh forgot to say. Spent a month hiking and kyaking around Alaska with my good friend Sue. Mad? Yes. Fun? Yes.

Alaska is an amazing place to visit and extremely inspirational. I never realised how colourful mountains could be. The colours were so vivid and varied. The landscape was so wild and raw and yet gentle and calming at the same time. The animals were very different to what I have ever seen before and some were BIG! I saw Bears! Moose! Caribou! Ground squirrel! and so many more. My camera got a huge workout that's for sure.

We kayaked through Icebergs and again who knew Ice could have such vivid colours! That was an awsome experience so much so I have almost finished writing my first book on Alaska.

I also won a photo competition. The photo I took was in Alaska and was published in a magazine.  And..... yes there is more.... I wrote a short story on Sue and I and our encounter with the bears in Alaska and it was recently published in an Australian magazine, Way2Go.

So goals for this year in my art world would have to be quite amazing to top last year but I'm always up for a challenge! I will be getting a collection together and plan on a exhibit. It has been way too long since I have had an Exibit and you never know you might see a bit of Alaska in there too.
